Day 01: Beijing
Arrive Beijing at night, met and transferred to hotel.
Day 02: Beijing
Visit Tiananmen Square– The largest city central square in the world, is not only the symbol of Beijing but also the symbol of China. Forbidden City– the world’s largest and best-preserved imperial palace complex. Surrounded by a moat that is six meters deep and a ten-meter high wall are 9,999 rooms – just one room short of the number that ancient Chinese believed represented divine perfection. Visit Temple of Heaven–the largest group of structures in the country dedicated to rituals that pay homage to heaven. This temple was built specifically for the worship of heaven and prayers for good harvests during the time of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Roast Duck Dinner.
Day 03: Beijing
Visit Great Wall (Badaling Section)– one of the eight wonders of the world and is the only man-made structure that is visible from the moon. This immense wall was built to keep out invaders as well as to retain the inhabitants. Visit Ming Tombs of Changling—one of the burial site of 13 ancient emperors.
Day 04: Beijing/Xi’an
Visit Summer Palace, Lama Temple– the largest and most perfectly preserved lamasery in present day China. Afternoon flight to Xi’an. Visit its impressive City Wall.
Day 05: Xian
Visit Terracotta warriors, the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Upon ascending the throne at the age of 13 (in 246 BC), Qin Shi Huang, later the first Emperor of all China, had work begun on his mausoleum. It took 11 years to finish. It is speculated that many buried treasures and sacrificial objects had accompanied the emperor in his after life. A group of peasants uncovered some pottery while digging for a well nearby the royal tomb in 1974. Visit Banpo Museum.
Day 06: Xian/Chengdu
Visit Wild Goose Pagoda and Provincial Museum. Afternoon flight to Chengdu, visit Panda Research Base.
Day 07: Chengdu/Leshan/Dazhu
Drive to Leshan (3 hours) to see the Giant Buddha which was built in the 7th century, and cost 90 years of 3 generations to finish it. Towering 71 meters high, it’s the largest stone Buddha in the world. Afternoon drive to Dazhu (5 hours).
Day 08: Dazhu/Chongqing
Visit the Dazu Rock Carving which is listed by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site in 1999. There are more than 50,000 Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian rock carvings and 100,000 characters of inscriptions dotted around Dazu. The work of Dazu Rock Carvings began in the Tang Dynasty (650A.D.), and continued until the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Afternoon drive to Chongqing (3 hours). Chongqing, called as the “Mountain City”, is one of the China’s biggest municipality as well as one of the very large cities in the world; the hub of water, land, and air transportation in Southwest China with busy rivers and highways radiating in all directions; and an inland river port with foreign trade in the west of China. Visit Goose Neck Park, Porcelain City. After dinner transferred to board on “Yangtze Paradise” to start the Three Gorges exploration at 22:00.
Day 09: Three Gorges
Today you will have land excursion to Fengdu Ghost City. Fengdu, with fantastic temples of underworld demons and gods, is constructed on the Mingshan Hill by the river band. It is known as the “Ghost City” and is a place for punishing the devil and awarding the good.
Day 10: Three Gorges
Today you will have land excursion to Shengnongxi Stream and Dam Site. The Shennong Stream Special Rafting Tour covers 20 kilometers. During the rafting tour, you might see large and small karst caves, home of many swallows, a world of high cliffs, deep gorges, flying waterfalls, three-colored springs, the ancient trestle path the suspended coffin in the cliff, the groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations. Startled swallows swoop overhead, fish swim about in the depths of the water and monkeys play on shore. The dam site is 27 miles upstream from Yichang City proper, at Sandouping Town, 38km upstream from the Gezhouba Dam Lock, inside the third of the Three Gorges.
Day 11: Yichnag/Shanghai
Arrive Yichang at about 13:00, met and transferred to take flight to Shanghai, called “Hu” for short, Shanghai is a bustling metropolis located at the mouth of the Yangtze River. In the 1930s and 40s, it was a paradise for adventurers to realize their dreams, and countless moving stories, both sad and joyful, were played out here. Visit the Bund, Nanjing Road.
Day 12: Shanghai
Visit Yu Garden and its market, Shanghai Museum, Pudong New Area, Oriental Pearl TV Tower (up to its second sphere).
Day 13: Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning drive to Suzhou(1 hour), visit Tiger Hill which is a wonderful sight with its leaning pagoda, waterfalls and landscaped paths., Panmen Gate, visit Garden of Master of Nets, it is the smallest of the Suzhou residential gardens, yet it is the most impressive because of its use of space which creates the illusion of an area that is much greater than its actual size. Visit the workshop of the Silk Factory to see how the silk thread is reeled from silk worm.
Day 14: Suzhou/Hangzhou
Morning drive to Hangzhou (3 hours), visit Peak Flying from Afar and Linying Temple, go to Tea Village to have a cup of best green tea in China.
Day 15: Hangzhou
Boat ride on West Lake, Huagang Park, go to the top of Chenghuangge Pavilion to have a birds’-eye-view over down city and West Lake, free shopping at Qinghefang Ming & Qing Dynasty Imitation Street.
Day 16: Hangzhou/Kunming
Morning flight to Kunming, visit West Hill, Dragon Gate with sightseeing van, Golden Temple and Flower market. Taste Cross-the –Bridge-Noodles for dinner.
Day 17: Kunming
One day tour to Stone Forest and its quintessential karst landscape makes every tourist lost in wonder.
Day 18: Kunming/Dali
Morning drive to Dali (5 hours), Visit Ancient Town of Dali, Three Pagodas of Chongshan Monastery.
Day 19: Dali/Lijiang
Visit Butterfly Spring which is actually a pool four meters deep and 20 square meters wide. In the fourth lunar month every year, the tree puts out butterfly-shaped flowers, and swarms of butterflies in twenty or so breeds descend on the tree, linking themselves head against tail into numerous colorful ribbon-like strings which keep dangling over the pool. Then have boat ride on Erhai Lake which is fresh water lake in the Yunnan Plateau at an elevation of 1972 metres, with a length of 42 km and width of 8 km. Enjoy the performances of local minority nationality. Afternoon drive to Lijiang (3 hours)
Day 20: Lijiang
Visit Yulong Snow Mt., Yunsan Plateau (cable car up and down), Dry Sea, White Water River, and Beisha Murals. Dinner on your own so you can go to taste the local food.
Day 21: Lijiang/Zhongdian
Visit Summer Palace of Ancient Local Master, Black Dragon Pool Park, the ancient city of Lijiang Which is also called Dayan Town. After lunch drive to Zhongdian (5 hours), on the way you will visit Hutiao Gorge (Tiger Leaping Gorge), the Hutiao Gorge with a drop of 3,000 meters is believed to be the world’s deepest canyon. The name of the gorge is attributed to the legend that a tiger had once jumped across the gorge at its narrowest section 30 meters in width. You will have the chance to view First Bend of the Yangtze River too. It is where the Yangtze River, following a northwest course, plunges head – on into a high and cragged cliff, takes a sharp U-turn-believed to be the river’s first bend as it flows on – and changes its course in a northeast direction.
Day 22: Zhongdian
Visit Songzanlin Monastery, or ‘Little Potala’ as it is affectionately known, is a spiritual place that invites you to discover the mystery and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Since the 5th Dalai Lama chose the site through divination in 1679, the monastery has grown into the most important community of its kind in Yunnan. Visit the Napahai Lake which is 3270 meters above sea level and covers 660 square km. Mountains stand by it on three sides and 10-plus rivers flow into it after zigzagging through the grasslands. Home visit to local Tibetan Family.
Day 23: Zhongdian/Kunming/Guilin
Morning flight back to Kunming to catch flight to Guilin. Visit the Elephant Trunk Hill, the Seven Star Park.
Day 24: Guilin/Yangshuo/Guilin
Enduring memories are created today as you cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo
Day 25: Guilin/Guangzhou
Visit Reed Flute Cave, noon flight to Guangzhou, Visit Dr.Sun-Yet San’s Memorial Hall, Temple of Six-Banyan-Tree.
Day 26: Guangzhou/Exit
Visit Yuexiu Park, Temple of Chen Clan Family and free shopping in Peking Road. Transferred to catch flight departing Guangzhou.
