Day 1 Arrive Chennai
Upon arrival in Chennai, meet and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 Chennai – Mammalapuram
Morning drive to Mammalapuram, enroute visit Kanchipuram, an ancient town famous for 1000 Temples. Afternoon visit the 7th century rock cut and shore temples at Mammalapuram.
Day 3 Mammalapuram
Day at leisure to explore the surrounding villages.
Day 4 Mammalapuram – Pondicherry
Morning drive to Pondicherry a former French colony displaying a Mediterranean aura, with its beautiful streets and whitewashed houses. Afternoon visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville.
Day 5 Pondicherry – Thanjavur
Morning drive to Tanjore. Afternoon visit the famousTanjore temples.
Day 6 Thanjavur – Tiruchirapalli – Madurai
Drive to Madurai, enroute visiting Rock Fort and temples at Tiruchirapalli.
Day 7 Madurai
Visit 17th century Meenakshi temple, one of the biggest temple complexes in India. Later visit the market area. Evening, witness the pooja ceremony at Meenakshi temple.
Day 8 Madurai – Periyar
Morning drive to Periyar. Afternoon boat ride in Lake Periyar.
Day 9 Periyar – Kumarakom
Drive to Kumarakom a beautiful backwater village. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 10 Kumarakom – Kochi
Morning drive to Kochi, a splendid mosaic of European influences. Evening Kathakali dance performance.
Day 11 Kochi
Visit Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Church of St. Francis and the famous Chinese fishing nets. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 12 Depart Kochi
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
