The Temple of Philae near Aswan

Day 1 – Cairo
Upon arrival to Cairo, you will be met by local representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2 – Cairo / Luxor
After breakfast, your private Egyptologist tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your tour. Drive to Giza and visit the Pyramids. See the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Continue to Memphis. Lunch en route. Continue to Sakkara. Return to Cairo and visit a Papyrus Institute. Transfer to the train station to take the sleeping train to Luxor.

Day 3 – Luxor
Upon arrival, visit the East Bank of the Nile starting with the especially graceful Temple of Luxor. Proceed to the North of Luxor to the Karnak Temple. Return to your hotel for a free afternoon and overnight.

Day 4 – Luxor
Cross to the West Bank of the Nile and explore the Valley of the Kings. Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back to the river Nile, your road passes by the famed Colossi of Memnon. Return to your hotel for a free afternoon and overnight.

Day 5 – Luxor / Aswan
Drive to Aswan, on the way visit Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples. Take a tour to the Aswan High Dam. Proceed to the Granite Quarries and the huge Unfinished Obelisk. Then take a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple. Night at hotel.

Day 6 – Aswan / Cairo
Morning free. Possibility of organizing a visit to Abu Simbel. In the afternoon (if weather permitting) take a ride on a Felucca, around Elephantine Island. Continue sailing around Kitchener’s Island, and the Mausoleum of the Agha Khan. Transfer to the train station to take the sleeping train to Cairo.

Day 7 – Cairo
Upon arrival, full day Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities for a detailed, guided tour. Lunch en route. Continue to the Mohamed Ali Mosque and the streets of Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 8 – Cairo
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo airport for your departure flight.
