The archaeological site of Choquequirao

Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Coca Masana – Playa Rosalina
Early in the morning, we will depart Cusco, enjoying incredible landscape on a private bus to Cachor, a village located in the Apurimac region. After 2 hours of of trekking we will arrive to Capulilloc (9 563 ft. a.sl), from this point we will have an spectacular view of the Apurimac Canyon, Pedrayoc and Wayna Cachora snowcovered mountains. Then, we will descend through Coca Masana (7,644 ft. a.s.l.) and will finally arrive to Playa Rosalina (5,085 ft. a.s.l.) where we will set our first campsite near the Apurimac river. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 2: Playa Rosalina – Choquequirao
This is the hardest day of our trekking. After having breakfast, we will climb to Rayaqpata, where we will enjoy our lunch. Along the way we will appreciate beautiful flora and fauna. We will continue walking foe 2 hours approximately from Rayaqpata to Choquequirao (9,957 ft. a.s.l.) Here we will be able to appreciate the sunset and the Condor (native bird) flight. Our campsite will be set just in the archaeological site. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3: Choquequirao – Raqaypata
This day we will just explore the archaeological site of Choquequirao with our professional guide. Later we will  have a free time to visit different areas of the complex. In the afternoon we will return to Raqaypata. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4: Raqaypata – Chikisca
After having breakfast, we will continue our return journey. We will descend to Apurimac River where we will stop to relax an have lunch. Then we will ascend to Coca Masana, where we will arrive after 4 hours of walking  approximately. Our last camsipe will be set on Coca Masana. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5: Chikisca – Cachora – Cusco
This day we will have an splendid view of the Apurimac canyon. We will take a new trail that crosses the throat of this canyon, considered one of the most spectacular of South America. We will arrive to Cachora where we will get in our private bus to return to Cusco. Meals included: Breakfast and lunch
