There is much more to Mongolia’s bird life then their famed Eagles

Day 1  
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel. Optional city tour including a visit to Natural History Museum. Bird watching along the nearby Tuul river. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2 
Drive to Lake Ogiy in Arkhangai province (300 km). Bird watching by the lake shores and tented camping

Day 3 
Drive to the Karakorum (150km) and visit the Erdene-Zuu Monastery. Tour of the monastery grounds and several chapels with examples of Buddhist Iconography dating from the 16th century. Bird watching. Overnight in gers.

Day 4    
Drive to Sangyn Dalai Lake for more bird watching. Tented camping

Day 5
Trip continues up to the Buun Tsagaan Lake in Ovorkhangai province. Spend a full day watching birds.

Day 6
Depart in the early morning and reach the Shar Burd pond across Orog Lake, Ikh, Baga Bogd Mountains. Bird watching. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 7  
Trip continues to Bayanzag (South Gobi). Bird watching. Overnight stay in tents

Day 8
Depart for the Gobi tourist camp, visiting sand dunes on the way. Bird watching. Overnight stay at the Gobi tourist camp

Day 9
Drive to the Yol Valley for a full day bird watching. Picnic.

Day 10 
Fly to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the Bayangol hotel. Visit the National History Museum. Evening performance and overnight in hotel

Departure
