Day 1, Arrival – Antigua (Unguided)
Guests are met & transferred to Antigua. (1hr) Antigua 2N • Upgrade with welcome dinner • Upgrade with informal lecture / discussion on background to Guatemala & its History

Day 2, Architecture & History Tour (B) (Guide HD)
Guests will take a half day walking tour of Antigua. (3-4hr). The tour takes in the main square, Palace, Cathedral, La Merced Church & San Francisco Church. All entrances are included. Free afternoon. (2.5hr).

Day 3, Comalapa Market, Local Naif Painters & Transfer to Lake Atitlan (B,L) (Guide FD)
Guests will be transferred to visit the colorful authentic market at Comalapa (1hr) which is a small, not so often visited town and market in the highlands near Antigua nestled in amongst some beautiful agricultural scenery. On the transfer guests will be able to see traditional farming life of the maya people of the area and local crops. Once in Comalapa your guide will take you for a tour of the local market and for a visit to some of the famous local primitive painting galleries as well as a stop at a local bakery to try out the “rosca” biscuits and finally a stop at the famous town mural which was painted by the local children to commemorate the signing of the peace accords. When guests are ready they will transfer on through the highlands to Lake Atitlan (2.5hr) and take a boat across the lake to their hotel. Lake Atitlan, 2N.

Day 4, Lake Tour (San Juan, Santiago) (B,L) (Guide FD)
This morning guests will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan (30min) to the village of San Juan La Laguna where they can visit the women’s textile cooperative to see hand weaving and natural dye process. Also here visit the studios / homes of the celebrated naïf painters. From here guests continue to the village of Santiago where they have lunch in a local hotel and tour the village visiting the Maya God Maximon and learn about the textiles, spiritualism and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya. • Sunset cocktails at Casa Palopo with Maya Specialist Vincent Stanzione (Informal discussion on Maya Culture)

Day 5, Chichi Market (B,L) (Guided)
Today guests transfer approx. 1hr to the famous market at Chichi. Time for shopping in this fabulous craft market and an opportunity to see Maya rituals being performed in the Catholic Church before transferring on to on to Antigua for the night. Antigua, 1N . Upgrade with a Helicopter Transfer

Day 6, Transfer to Coban & visit of Quetzal Reserve (B,L)
This morning guests will be met by their driver and guide for their transfer to the Coban area. On the way guests will stop to visit the Biotop El Quetzal. Here guests will have the opportunity to see the famous Quetzal bird among many other species. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Lanquin 2N

Day 7, Semuc Champey & Lanquin Caves (B,L)
Today guest will visit Semuc Champey, a lime stone bridge on top of which there are several natural pools of different sizes, filled with crystalline mountain spring water. Underneath the bridge is the Cahabón River. At the end of the bridge, the water from the pools falls rejoining the river, forming a waterfall. Guests can hike to the 2 overlooks for a fantastic view or just relax in the beautiful blue water pools. When guests are ready they will be transferred to Lanquin where they will visit the caves of Lanquin. These caves are the home of thousands of bats which will fly out at dusk.  • Add a 2D/1N extension to Cancuen & Candelaria Caves • Add 2D/1N extension to Chiminos Island Lodge to visit Aguateca Site & Rainforest wildlife

Day 8, Transfer to Tikal Area (B)
This morning guests will be transferred to their hotel in the Tikal Area (approx. 5 hours). Rest of the day free to explore the area or just to relax at your hotel. Tikal area 2N

Day 9, Yaxha Sunset (B) (Guide HD)
Guests enjoy a free morning to relax. After lunch they transfer to Yaxha National Park (approx 1hr) to explore this atmospheric lakeside site ending with refreshments & wonderful views at sunset over the rainforest canopy from atop the main temples. • Add a Canopy Tour in the morning • Upgrade with a luxury picnic

Day 10, Tikal (B,L) (Guide HD)
Today guests transfer to Tikal National park (approx 1hr) to explore the amazing UNESCO protected Mayan Temple site of Tikal where huge Mayan temples rise above the jungle canopy and monkeys and tropical birds are abundant in the surrounding rainforest. After lunch guests have time to relax and refresh and will fly back to Guatemala City (30min) where they will be transferred to their hotel. (Approx 10min) Guate City 1N • Upgrade with a luxury picnic • Upgrade with private charter flight to Guate

Day 11, Transfer Out (B) (Unguided)
This morning our driver will transfer guests to the airport (approx 10mins) in plenty of time to catch their flight.
